A very interesting article appeared in the Sept./Oct. 2014 of Bear hunting Magazine , where a Traditional Bowhunter killed Two Grizzlies were killed back to back, 2013 & 2014 by Alaska Resident, Tyler Freel. With a Recurve made by Neil Jacobsen, of Bear's Paw Bows.
Both bear had pass through with a 160 gr. Grizzly single bevel broadhead, 250 spine arrow Easton Dangerous Game FMJ Total Weight. 750 grs. Alaska opened area where grizzlys were becoming too numerious to control, and allowing hunting over bait.
Freel used treestands to hunt over bait, and states, grizzly very seldom return to the bait after first visit.
Freel DIY hunt in Allaska, and 2015 Grizzly will be open to non- resident, as long as they use a Alaska guide or outfitters service.
It's a very nice article, by someone that is not lining some ones'S pocket with ad's about their products.. Only the equipment(bow and arrows) he used is mention. And I would like to Congrats. that young man on his success. Old Crow

Truthfully , I don't think I would have the nerve to hunt a Grizz , even from a tree stand
now that I am older, Nerve has decreased proportinally
even tree stands have goten scarier

Here is a link to the story.
If you look closely at the bow, it is equipped with what appears to be a flipper rest. Makes a lot of sense for Alaska.

He's a young man, Tyler, heck when I was younger, things didn't bother me either, but the older you get, you kind of "Stop and smell the Roses" LOL Yep he use a flipper rest and vanes on his arrows, but as he says in the article a Grizzly comes in quick and you have to be ready, reason he gave was the weather in Alaska for using vanes. I think we will hear more about this young man, from the article he spend a lot of time waiting on a grizzly to come in. And since it stays daylight in Alaska longer, he spends long hours in the stand.

More salt in his drawers than I have. 8^).
I remember on Fred Bear's Kodiak shot showing the arrow passing through and onto the beach. Also, Art Young's video showing him shoot a standing Grizzly/Brownie in 1925 appeared to be a pass through.
