Cool book I picked up as a kiddo was "Trailing a Bear" by Bob Munger, which told about a couple dozen of his hunts around the world with Fred Bear.

How about Feather Merchant's Hunting With the Traditional Bowhunters of Georgia? It has over 30 stories in it, and he just had it reprinted and needs money for booze.

Jim Corbett's books of the 1930s writings of India and his well written and understated episodes of hunting man-killing tigers and leopards. I believe it has been stated he shot 19 tigers and 14 leopards man eaters in a lifetime of living in India.

These books are tops for youth, too, and are so much more than just a hunting book--ecology, conservation, ethics, and great description and respect for the animals he pursued. I have read and retread them four times in my 65 years and given numerous copies and the new trilogy to many young bowhunters on the way up. The are top drawer, and fit right in with traditional archery ethics and mindset.
