Has anyone ever increased the draw weight of a laminated bow via the use of a backing of some kind? I have backed a lot of selfbows or laminated all wood bows with various materials, but never a laminated glass bow. I'm mainly considering the use of either glass or carbon, very thin in either case. I imagine using smooth-on to glue a .015 or so strip would add a bit of weight without changing much else. If the material was woven or E type it might add some torsional stability, however I'm not sure if using woven or waffle material as a backing is ideal on a glass laminated bow.

Tri-State Archery used woven glass (Owens Permaglass) on their bows in the 60's and 70's and many of those bows are still around and working fine. They used it on back and belly side.

Thanks for the information George, I appreciate knowing that.
