That was certainly special! Absolutely awesome. I'm a student of his style, techniques and hunting theory. I have only had the pleasure of reading his book and I watching his DVD. Skeet

He has done much to promote archery on an international level.

Well done Byron.

Couldn't agree with you more Yankee. Bought 2 of his videos when he was there, and still enjoy watching them.

Some more info on the Byron Ferguson weekend. These are the names that are in the picture: Left to right: Jos Oude Vrielink (set up of the 3d hunter round and logistic) – Tony Karssen (general assistant) – Anne Kuperus (finance, catering) – Joachim Woitok (guide for the 3d hunter rounds) – Byron Ferguson (who else?) – Bennie Kobes (set up of the 3d hunter round and various other things) – Arnold Smit (aka V-Archer - manager, sponsor and organizer of this event) – Job Pleyzier (general assistant) – Michiel Zuidema (general assistant) – Debbie Broekhuis (hostess, catering) – Jan Broekhuis (photographer, catering, BBQ) – seating: Jan Velten (set up of the 3d hunter round and logistic)

The exhibition was held for an invited audience and was well received, the clinics (archery school) was held at our outdoor range. There were 3 groups of 23 participants per group. Byron gave instructions about the way you should shoot like body stand, aiming, how an arrow is tuned and gave personal pointers. We had two 3d hunter loops set out for those who were ready with the clinic or for guest archers. In both loops the targets were set out as real hunting distances (20 yards or so) and some of them were quite challenging. After the last clinic a small group from our club did the 3d hunter loop with Byron and indeed some of us out shot him on different targets. This was real fun.

The impact Byron has had on traditional archery is tremendous. Through the "Impossible Shots" show on TV and the his exhibitions at sports shows over the years he has impacted thousands.

Backcountry, across the pond. Archery is a big deal in Europe and the neighboring countries.

Met Byron many years ago and he was a fine gentleman. He was setting up at the Pa. Bowhunter's Festival in Forksville, Pa., and invited us in to watch him prepare. Showed us how he did his shots, etc. Awesome ambassador for the sport.

I notice he doesn't shoot 3 under.

His arrow really hangs out there past the back of the bow

To the last two posters....he is a great shooter, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Byron will tell you himself there are plenty of archers who can best him on the course, but he is superior at what he does for a living in the sport. He is also one of the best ambassadors we have worldwide. Guys like Byron grow our numbers and his enthusiasm is infectious. One reason he is so good at it.

Thanks, George. Looking forward to meeting him sometime.

Wonder if he ever gets out west?

Backcountry, he was in the Netherlands.

Backcountry, The indoor exhibition was held in a small village called Wierden and the clinics were held near that same village in the Netherlands.

I can see that in there being plenty that could take him on the course. Not a chance of that with me but sure that isn't his game. Get that same group with him and throw some clays or something though and that would be another story entirely. He is great for the sport to be sure.

Byron is a good man and a great ambassador for traditional archery. I had the good fortune of meeting him this past winter in Dimondale,Michigan. We had some good conversation and even shared a few laughs. But I didn't get to shoot with him. Im jealous!

That would be so nice to be able to shoot with someone like him who has done so much for archery. What bow was he shooting there?

From: Gorbin

Met him and he was awesome. Made an impact on my son and nephew with his show. I have to check but I may have posted some pics on here...

I'd like to know what he would average on the 300 round or similar.

I've studied some rare Howard Hill footage and talked to a tournament archer who saw him shoot and based on this, I'll speculate HH would average perhaps 250-260 albeit with wood arrows. I'm guessing Bryon would be about the same.

After all that level of accuracy is probably better than 97% of trad archers.I suspect the very best trad shots today would average even higher, but with lower weight bows, etc.

This is just fun speculation...

Got to see him a few years back, a real gentleman.
