Does anyone know where I could buy a Jones cap? I always liked this style of cap for bowhunting but they seemed to have lost their popularity over the years for some reason......DaveP

The Jones Cap that Cabelas is selling is a heavier version of the older Jones Caps, which was much lighter weight. I bought a similiar one from L L Bean. I had one in the 60's, so I remember what the vintage ones were like.

I have 2 of them stored away somewhere. One in TreBark the other in WWII camo reversible with blaze orange. Frank

I had one when I was a kid. I didn't know they still made them. Those things screamed bowhunter.

McAlister clothing has them in a heavy waxed cotton.

saw one in a local hardware store a while back! don't know why i didn't pick it up!

I was surprised to see the Jones cap on the McAlister website. As far as I know, they are the only place carrying an honest-to-gosh, old school, Jones Cap, kool!

I got one from cabelas in camo sense my wife shrunk my last one I had for about 15 years. Had to cut the sewed lip off the brim but now it works great. I will check out these other for standbys while I still have my wife

I'd love to buy one. Mine is laying on the bottom of Sowden Lake Ont. I'll be checking out that website.

I still have the one I had my senior year in high school which was 1969. It is mighty thin and has no body to it but I still take it on every trip and try to wear it one or two days while I am out.

Got a heavy duty one from Cabelas that is water resistant...I think it was made for duck hunting, pry like the one juneauhunt is talking about.

Good hats.

Just did a google search and found several places that offer them. Sport-smart.com has them in a variety of camo patterns.

A few years back I got a wool one from L.L.Bean.

I still have quite a few of them. A couple of the old-fashioned camo ones, one with the drop-down screen, one all blaze orange, and one gortex-blaze camo from Cabelas a while ago. I still think their cool.

Red Green has one. I allways wanted his.

A company called Drake Waterfowl has them in US M1942 (WWII Marine Camo) or what most would call "old school camo"

I was just looking at one at BassPro the other day. Waxed canvas with Thinsulate interior. Think it was Mossy Oak maybe? Was too small for me (and I didn't NEED another hat)

My jones hats must be different than all yours. My jones style is felt kind of like an outback hat with shorter brim and top is dented in on both sides in front. What you guys are talking about I call a crusher hat. I had one of those years ago reminded me of a small lamp shade. Used it for fishing wouldn't be caught dead in it now

The Johnson Wool Jones Hat will be heirloom quality that your kids can wear when you are gone. For a small upcharge, they can make one out of any of their 120 some patterns. Not all of their patterns are on their website. Ask for them to send you a catalog because all the patterns, and some of the best hunting patterns, are listed there.

I looked on there and found a green one no camo

Johnsons doesn't have camo. They have over 100 plaids. If looking for a basic camo Jones hat, the auction site usually has lots of them. Some good used Woolrich ones too.

I've had my DayOne bucket hat for a year and have been Steaming/Training into an almost-jones-cap-shape.

I also highly recommend the Filson Tin Cloth Wildfowl Hat. This hat looks similar to the Jones hat however it is great for cold weather. I have one in green shelter cloth which is lighter in weight than the tin cloth. It will last forever.

I think it was named after some dude out west named Larry Jones

I have three of those suckers lying around, a tiger stripe camo from the 70s, a brown camo from duck hunting days and a fluorescent orange I wear every rifle season and rabbit hunting. My original WW2 camo one from the 60s is gone.

The "Jones" hat has been around for a long time an was worn a lot by duck hunters back in the 50's or 60's. It was not a "bowhunter" hat, per se. And it was not named after Larry Jones...JR.

My first camo hat my dad bought me for an elk hunt when I was 8, was a Jones style hat. I want another! Thanks for bringing this thread up.

JustSome, looks good!
