Anyone own any of the "better grade" Samick hunting bows? Im interested in approximate prices and opinions of them.

I have a Red Stag T/D 40#@28" It is not their top of the line but it is not the bottom of the barrel either. It shoots very good, shock free, quiet, I really enjoy it.

If you like wood working, it is an easy project to up grade the Sage with an oil finish and a little rasp work. I will try and post a picture.

these are the middle range bows for Samick.I've shot the Deerslayer off and on.Solid-.No complaints. The Stingray and the rear mounted Firebird have their own distinct feel. They're better than many bows that are much more expensive.I've always wondered what exotic woods are smoothest and have a wonderful feel when you draw them.Anyway there isn't much here on the $300 or 400 Samicks.I believe those who have Trad ILF limbs made by Samick are rather satisfied shooters. It's an important question that Yankee raised.Risking 400 without sufficient intel is either bold or foolish.

If you do some checking you will find that Samick makes a lot of bows and limbs that are very expensive and will perform at an Olympic level...this is not an insignificant company...if there inexpensive bows are as great as many on here claim there is no reason their more expensive bows would not be even better

I also have a Stingray and really like it's performance. Fast, quiet, smooth, accurate and the forward handle design is forgiving to minor release inconsistencies. That's all you can ask for out of a bow.

I have two stingrays, 50 and 60 lbs., and believe that they are a great value with many positives attributes. I have shot the Nighthawk on a few occasions, and that would be my first choice for a Samick takedown.

I think the Red Stag is as good as many custom bows. It shoots great, accepts low stretch strings, and has a good feel/heft. I also like the Greatree Highlander or Osprey.

Pukwana, I've been looking closely at a Squall...nice looking bow. If it shoots as well as my Red Stag, it's gotta be good.

I talked to someone at our local archery range last week. He builds and sells recurves and longbows. He has shot widows, bears, etc. He told me that his bow of choice over all of these is the Red Stag.

DarrinG, I wouldn't hesitate buying another one. I think Samicks are some of the best bows for your buck. Good luck.
