Another post motivated me to once again show the bocote veneers on my RER LXR...total of eight veneers on the longbow and recurve limbs...rather nice bocote I think...and the pictures do not do it justice...so show me what you have please

This is one I made, my first Hill Style bow. The first recurve I made has a Bocote and Maple riser. I am making a new one that is Cocobolo, bocote, and rosewood, with lacewood limbs. I will probably make a set of bocote limbs for it as well.

Wow...great response people...some do not like bocote because the grain is so busy...their loss, eh...keep the pictures coming

Dave....I don't care for it and I don't see it as a loss for me...more like a gain for something else. Doesn't mean there is something wrong with us....although their could well be. I like it in risers but in limbs it looks more like one celled animals than grain. Or water stains. I guess it's good that everyone doesn't ooh and aah over it.

Nice to see this thread coming back around...I was interested to see it and learned that apparently it was my idea...who knew eh...I am no longer the owner of that bow but I still have one bocote bow and likely always will
