Anyone going to the ASTB State Traditional Archery Championship in Alabama at Brierfield Ironworks? It's next weekend, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. My girls, son and I are going to be there Saturday shooting, haven't decided if we are camping over Friday night or Saturday night, but we are going to be there one night for sure.

Planning on being there all 3 days. looking forward to it. I won't be camping since I only live about 25 miles away. Have a great day

This is always a good shoot, wouldn't miss it. I will probably put the camper down to Briarfield Thursday afternoon.

This will be the first ASTB shoot I've been to in 3 years. Looking forward to it and bringing a trad newbie I gave a longbow to

We will come Thursday am to help set up. Everyone remember your SWIM SUIT! Sure does make a hot round in the August Alabama weather more tolerable when you end with a dip in the swimming pool.

weather looks to be nice so far, high 60s at night and mid 80s during the day. Lets hope that holds up!

I'll be there, if you need any Trad stuff, setting up a vendor table. Come by and visit

I will be there too. I will have a few used bows for sale and some Bear TD limbs and some ILF limbs for sale.

Is there going to be anyone there with some staves? I don't have much in the way of cash, but I have some possible trade stuff. I would sure like to work on a good selfbow for hunting season this year.

Few more days - really looking froward to this. Looks like I will be bringing 3 daughters and my son this time. Going to be busy but we are all going to shoot!

Thanks Clydebow. The course was set with a lot of very close shots. Personally I would like to see the shots all between 15-30 yards. But I know most folks like the closer shots so I can't complain. This event was the State Shoot and could be justified in making the shots a little more difficult. The guys who put on the event work hard and should be applauded for their efforts. Doing all that is required in the hot Alabama sun is not easy or fun but they do it for us. I appreciate their efforts. My comment about the shots distances is only a suggestion, not a complaint. It was a nice event.
