I love the Explorers! Browning seems to have been particularly good at making shorter bows more "shootable" IMHO!

My first REAL bow was a Nomad...late 70's? Then I bought into the wheel hype and bought an other Browning with wheels in the limbs not positive but I think they stilled called it a Nomad? Basically built like a recurve but had pins and slotted limbs that the wheel was mounted on.

My favorite hunting bow id my Explorer (predates the I or II models).
Dropping down in length my Cobra and Wasp are also great hunting tools. Browning made some wonderful bows.

They always made a really nice looking bow, I thought and still think. Passed on several I shoulda bought, but you cant own em all. Cobra and Backpackers always appealed to me...the longer bows look real serious, too.

Actually the first Explorer looked like the Safari and was 62" in length. The riser double horned Explorer was 1964 I believe. Somewhere in my mess, I have a 1963 catalog with the photos of that model before the change.

How about Browning accessories or dealer equipment? Here is a photo of one of my better finds. A Browning bow rack for dealers that holds 10 bows. In the photo are a couple of Explorers, a Medallion and a Folding Hunter I. Any quivers, fish reels, arrows, etc.?

Every manufacturer in the 60's and 70's had a target line. Most archers were into field archery and a lot into target as well (NFAA, and NAA) so the offerings were ample back then.
