I got to hold and examine a KM today....I'm hoping a Bear collector can enlighten me w/more info on the bow. It was not your everyday Kodiak Magnum....beautiful light colored wood laminate but when I looked closely the coin (which was flush w/riser) had Fred on the coin....I made a comment about the bow and the owner said his grandad was a friend of Fred Bear! Was this a commemorative edition? Paul

Certainly not an area of Bear collecting I am familiar with but I do recall reading somewhere about the use of "Fred" coins on commemorative bows

Yep...90's nothing special. That coin is just standard issue those years. It's actually known as the Freddy Kreuger coin....because it looks more like him than Fred Bear ! It was so unpopular that it didn't 't last long ! Thank God !
