A forum search will reveal plenty of answers to this query already; simply eliminate brand of bow from your search criteria. BTW, some think worrying about bow finish is not worth the bother. Others say apply paste floor wax but do not buff it until after the season.

I apply a little wax without buffing. After hunting I just buff it off.
I only dull it down about 25% of the time. The rest of the time I don't bother. :)

Take a little bow string wax and rub it on the back of the limbs and riser. That will help. Wipes right off with a little bit of mineral spirits on a rage.

No need to dull beauty from the gloss in bright sun even semi will glare a tadd. Never had an animal spook on gloss its a wives tail and for those who think differantly. I had to add that.LOL

How can you tell if it's gloss or satin? I ordered a satin but it's pretty shiny. Either way I love. Cameron

I wax mine up as shiny as I can!! I love a beautiful bow and I can't say I ever spooked a deer because of a shiny bow. I wish all my bows were as shiny as Phil can make them.

"How can you tell if it has a glossy or satin finish by looking at the label on the box?" If you look at left side of the bar code, you'll see the number 7. That stands for the 7th letter of the alphabet which is "G" for glossy. Not really, sorry, I couldn't pass it up. It's getting late, time to hit the rack.

Most of my older bows have been a medium gloss, but since around the early 80's they were all flat or satin finished.
If I was having a custom built it would be a very high gloss.
I'd tape the limbs for finish protection but not because I'd worry the finish would scare the animals.
I don't care what the deer think.
Jack.

Either string wax or if you can find some of the old army camo stick, its pretty tough and will last most of a season, then can be waxed or W-D 40 it off.
