My daughter just inherited a Howatt Ventura 25#@28 Serial number is HVX 3282-66 "Ne Plus Ultra".

I was my aunt's, then went to my sister and now had been handed down to my daughter. I was wondering when the bow was made.

If you could give me any information on this bow that would be great.

It was made in the early 1960's. Larry Hatfield (a bowyer with the Howatt Plant at that time) might elaborate.

The Ventura is one of my favorite hunting bows of all time. Yes, I know, people will respond saying "it's a target bow!" I really like the Hunter, but the Ventura shoots the same speed but seems much more forgiving. I believed what people said for years that "shorter bows are quicker," but when the chronograph became accessible, many of us noticed that the Ventura shot equal to the Hunter. I really wish Larry Hatfield would give a little more background on this bow as I truly believe it highly underrated.

She will love it.

Sold the one I had to a young lady at our club.

Maybe post the numbers for a better ID.
