Happy Easter All. This idea has floated around my mustard seed size brain so I decided to throw it out. Who knows maybe someone will make it happen. Would it be fun to ride a trail on a bicycle (trail bike) x amount of miles get off walk a trail shoot 5 3ds back on the bike x amount of miles walk a trail shoot 5 3ds back on the bike do it again for a total of so many miles (not extream trail) and so many 3ds. I think it would introduce people to each sport and just think of the designs people would come up with to carry equipment. Someone make it happen let me know I will travel. cbc

I have thought about this too, but our Rod and Gun Clubs are too far apart.
What about making stops at other archer's back yard and basement targets? Even archers who can no longer bike or run will still be able to create diabolically hard shots at their homes. Puzzling-out how to reconfigure stacks of plastic totes to make a line of sight in cellar could be incorporated.
The snowsleders and four wheelers hold poker-runs as fund raisers. Maybe this could also be part of the game.

I think it would be more fun to run the course myself.

Why not contact local archery ranges and volunteer to setup and run this type of shoot.

Or do it on skis, snowshoes in winter. Interesting idea but don't think you would get a big enough turnout for an event.

And thinking past the initial excitement, consider extra liability for the clubs/ranges and whether or not they want guys on bicycles on their trails. More to consider than where and when.

I would love to try that out. I have a mtn bike I ride daily(weather permitting) and since I retired, I like riding my bike even more. Your idea would add another dimension to shooting a 3D. I'm going to try it out by myself at our club's 3D range, and then discuss it with my friends.

George you have a important point. I was thinking more on a forest service road and maybe gameland or something I think you need 5 or 10 miles of rideable trail or road. I don,t know justsounds like a true traditional fun way to introduce bike riders to archery and archers to bikes. Due to health reasons I cant walk a 3d course but I can ride a trail bike on a trail or forest service road. Thanks for the input. cbc

I know this is a traditional forum but mixing it up with compounders would increase the turn-out.

With so many wheels and cables on compounds they would not even need a bike. Just ride along on their bows.
