Please date my Damon Howatt Monterey. Where did the Monterey rank in the DH line? Thanks.

The Monty was a top of the line target and hunting bow. Post some photos and show the serial number/decal.

In the early to mid 60s the Monterey was basically the Hunter with accent pieces in between the three pieces of Brazilian rosewood that made up the riser. I have a Hunter and Monterey of the same era and it's obvious what they did to create the Monterey.

Without a pic, can you describe the decals & provide any other writing or stamping on the bow (locations include limbs & sight window) or measure string length? Otherwise it may be from the 1960's or 1970's.

1962 or 1972, again just a guess.

It's later than this one with the earlier logo. The Monterey sticker is missing from the bottom. This one is a '67 I believe but the riser is very similar.

The layout and type of the wood looks a lot like my 75 Super Diablo. Wouldn't this one be a 71?

I agree Phil.

it's a 1971 model. the bowyers then were myself and jim krieder. we did all the shaping and checking of tiller and straightness of the limbs. there were 4 people tipping the bows out for us.
