I have two grizzlies I am going to put up for sale but before I do I need to know how old they are. the first is kr39864, silver medal and green limbs. amo 56 50#. the second one is 7r538, silver medal, and brown limbs. amo 58 46#. both are in excellent shape with no stress lines. the have been hanging on pegs in my room for the last 20 years. room is getting smaller as my kids are getting older. thanks hefty

I think the second bow you mentioned with the Serial # starting with the 7 is a 1967 model. What wood is the riser made of ?

soldier I think you are right about it being a 67 the wood is reddish in color and very fine grained.

George D. Stout posted this thread 0n 19 Sept 2013 67 Grizzly...latest acquisition.

The riser should be Bubinga and look like the pics he posted.

yep its a 67 just like George's. the other grizzley has what looks like a white maple stripe going up thru the riser.

7r is a 67 the other is 71-77. I could pr0bably nail it down better but my paperwork is at work.

The 56" with the maple stripe is a 1970 model.

SB is correct (naturally), I'm quite sure that the Grizzly was only made 56" AMO in 1969 & 1970 (the 69 model has a serial # that starts with a 9, and no stripe of maple).
