I am sure this has been asked before, but does everyone have that one particular bow or two that is on your "WANT" list? Mine changes kind like the weather, but for now, mine is a 69' Super K at about 50#'s. I have never seen one in person or shot one, but I just have this need. Tell us what is at the top of your list and maybe why. Thanks

Mine is far from being a high dollar item, but I had a 45lb Pearson Gamester years ago. I'd love to find one in 50 or 55lbs. Otherwise, a greenstripe takedown. Best looking of all the Bears.

You owe yourself to shoot/own the 67-69 superK. I have a 68 that developed a crack and sent it to be fixed and refinished, they are great bows. Hard for me to narrow it down to one bow.

An Ernie Root recurve every hill and bear and bama bow that I don't currently have. I've got a long way to go and a lot of explaining to do as they come in one by one. Cameron

I'm not exactly sure where to begin. I've got quite a few on my list but I'll give my top two. An original Asbell bighorn and an original St.Charles thunderbird.

Also, if I could find someone near me who makes bows and who would help/teach me I would like to build a recurve in the design of a St.Charles thunderbird.

I started my bucket list many years ago, and it's still going strong. I have passion for the Hill bows, particularly the bows of the 50's and 60's. They are getting much harder to find but I'm alwayslooking. This is a picture of a few of my Hill bows. The two bows on the left are in particularly good shape. The far left was made by Howard(documented)in the 50's.It still shoots superbly. Shot a cottontail with it about 10 yesrs ago just so Howard did't think it was collecting dust. The third is a Sunnyvale Ca bow. I also have another that is within a few serial #'s, but heavier poundage. The 4th to the right is a very nice Shultz made Tembo, and my favorite shooter for many years. The far right is an 80's vintage Big 5 made for me by Craig Ekin.

I definitely couldn't choose just one, as I've only been interested in archery for 7 or 8 months, and I already have 10+ bows I can't wait to shoot/own. Although here are two that are at the top of my list:

First would be one I know I will have within a year, which is a Fred Bear Takedown. I haven't made a decision on which one, but it will probably end up being a green stripe or a similar version.

The second one I think will end up taking me longer to acquire, which would be a 1967.5 Super Kodiak (the Black Beauty).

I would also wouldn't mind having one of the newer versions, either the Grayling Green Super Kodiak (60") or the Black Maple Takedown (with #1 limbs, so 60" as well).

From: Tom McCool
Date: 13-Jan-14

The 59 Kodiaks both new and old. I also would like to get a Black Widow and give it a try and judge them for myself. All used at a low price would be a great.

From: Sidmand
Date: 13-Jan-14

I have to go with greenmts; I will not be happy until I have a selfbow made by me, out of a tree that I cut on property that I own, and arrows that I made and fletched with points that I knapped or forged myself. With that bow in hand, I want to take a deer, a turkey, and a squirrel, not necessarily in that order.

But, I'd be pretty happy with a new Hill bow too :).

I have managed to own and/or shoot just about every bow I've been interested in over nearly 60 years of shooting sticks. Not too much on my bucket list anymore. I'm still looking for the right Fred Anderson longbow, and maybe a Jack Harrison and Dave Paxton. Have owned the latter two, but let them slip through my hands.

When I die, my bucket will be full of bows that represent the history of where I live, San Diego. Once I discovered that there was a rich history surrounding San Diego, my desire for any other bow diminished. Historic figures like Frank Eicholtz, Corky Johnson, Harry Drake and the brothers of Gordon Plastics all produced bows here. Thus far, this has only led me to recurves of various types, but no longbows.

So, my bucket list bow would be to find a Longbow made in or by a San Diegan.

Last year I developed a hankorin' for a Big Jim's Buffalo. I took care of that thanks to the classifieds. I am now developing a need for one of Jim's Thunderchilds. I'll have to sell a bow or two to make that happen. Then I should be done. (yea.... right).

From: Buglmin

Im looking for a Groves bow, one piece or two piece Spitfire Mag. That is the one bow I truly want. Or an 80's Super Diablo I have no interest in older Bears. They just don't do anything for me... I do want a two piece Duane Jessop Heart Stopper, and I'm in the process of trying to make a deal with Duane. Nothing fancy, just some pretty red elm on the limbs...

My 'bucket list' is about finishing bows I have begun...

This one is currently EST at about 100#+..and of high elevation yew I cut, seasoned myself over 20 years ago..

I don't shoot over 75#@30" these days so I have put off reducing it down that far..

It's an awesome piece of yew...

I hope that if/when I die the kids don't sell it at a swap meet or donate it to goodwill..:(

The other one is done..:)

Horn nocks 75% done...It's stout..Jim

I want to get an original Red Wing Hunter.

Also, since I'm from SC, I'd like to get a Jeffery Royal Hunter one day. Unfortunatley, they are usually out of my price range. I really screwed up and let one get away on ebay last week. Winning bid was like $105.00. Been kicking my self ever since.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, I have no bucket list for bows. At some point I have owned every bow that I lusted after. I ended up selling most of them looking for the next best one. Several I kept. The result is I went through a lot of money finding out what I really wanted.

I'll still keep buying and selling but it's more to scratch an itch than anything else.

No bucket list here either buckets aren't usally small. I been very blessed to have been able to afford the desires of many as well and dreams and hopes of most to but that doen't make it right for me.

I see something I can usally get it if its not taken. A lot of times they are by the time you see them though gone or your working other deals.LOL

This is a bad, bad disease and when you let it get out of control, it controls you and its never ending.LOL

Theres many phases to the bow addiction which all begins with your addictive behaviours to begin with.

Bows are just the catilist.LOL

Just like eating disorders you lose weight and slim down only to possibly go back to over eating and bulk up again.

Just like with bows you slim down and sell off only to go back and buy up again and you tell yourself all the while your doing it I will make money on this bow. Its a good deal and you don't you trade or sell for a loss to get another bow.LOL

Beware of your list it might never get full and you may die trying to fill it or worse loss various things you were intended to to be with other than bows.LOL

A man only needs 1 bow, 1 wife too. Sad affairs life brings to some.

TG only 1 Lord I can only imagine the trouble more than one brings just like 2 masters.LOL
