eddie c, people do use generators. Unfortunately, unlike myself and a couple friends that camp together and have nice quiet generators that we also try to position to help lessen noise even more, some people don't seem to mind bringing ones that sound like a Model T with no muffler.

Clydebow, I understand about the noise. unfortunately I don't have a Honda genie but I don't have a model T either. I am in the process of making a sound box to cut the noise. my wife has issues when the temps are high, only reason I would bring it.

Mine is more like an airplane than a model T. I plan to set up right beside Clydebow! If I keep him up all night I might have a chance to out shoot him!

I am looking to camp maybe for the week if thats ok, need to build another bow with Gary Davis I donated the one I built before to the Red River meeting house auction. I need one to keep and pass on to my daughter or grand daughter.

Bow building, flint knapping, shooting courses, spending money with vendors, camping and two very nice hosts.

We attend a lot of shoots every year and there are good people everywhere. Can't say as I could think of one not to go to, but if you could only go to one.....Twin Oaks is a Very beautiful site for an event! Very genuine and helpful group of people putting this on too. This is not the biggest shoot of the year and certainly not small. I would say it is just right. They have great targets and enjoyable ranges on top of all the other nice things that will be said about them. I would be absolutely crushed if we ever have to miss this.

Thanks Terry,appreciate that. J.Compliment it depends on what kind of wood you want. It cost 20.00 to register then what every wood you want. If you bring your own wood 20.00 is all it cost. Stave's usually run from 50.00 to 150.00. Hope you can make it. Some think it is only for selfbows guys and bow building but that is just a small part of the event,lot of glass folks there and a really good competive course along with a nice 20 target practice course for all that register to use all they want. Lots of good vendors also. Pappy

I am going to try to make it again this year, Pappy. I had a ball last year. Been on a diet , though, and will start walking and jogging, soon, to prepare for them hills and hollers I wasn't ready for last year. I may try to camp this year. I hope the rain stays away!!

I just overhauled the motor on my old pick up and am thinking of making the drive this year. I could save $1,000 or more by flying but I just hate not having my own vehicle. A few of my old high school buddies moved to Tennessee years ago and it would be nice to drop in and visit them as well.

Great Kevin,talked to Rocky yesterday and he said yall were coming fomr the great state of MI.Got a few gifts for yall when you arrive.Clyde I got it. Just FYI for folks coming early to get a good camping spot,please only use what you need,it gets pretty full and we want the ones that show up early to get their pick of spots,no ropeing off large areas for ones that show up late in the week.Thanks,also we get a lot of request about dogs,we do allow them[for now] but PLEASE keep them on a leash and under control and clean up behind them.I love dogs and don't want to have to stop letting folks bring them along but also don't want them to mess up everyone else fun.So on a leash/clean up after them and please keep the quite at night.If you have a dog that you can't do that with please reconcider bringing them along.See yall in May. I'm a HUGE dog lover, but it's no fun to step in a mess that someone's too lazy to clean up behind their pet. Even if they think, oh it's alright because they're in the woods. Well, when we're lookin' for lost arrows, that's exactly where we're goin'.

Hey Pappy, I'm planning to come again this year. Last year I had a bit of an intense time finding Twin Oaks because I come from the NORTH on I-24. I gave my GPS what information I could find and got there.

It would be great to have a map on the website, or at least directions from the north. But I'm sure I can find the spot again.

Jim, don't do what I did last year. when I left Twin Oaks my Navigator(wife) let me take a wrong turn and we got to see an extra hour of country side before I got straighten out. :)

We can't wait for this years event and to see everyone, it is such a AWESOME event, if you go just one time you will be hooked FOREVER.... See you on the shooting range :)

Going to celebrate my grandson's birthday a week ahead of time, and combine it with Easter weekend. So now, we only have to make one trip to my daughter's house. That frees up the weekend before the Classic. Which means we can get there on Saturday morning instead of Monday!

I think me and a couple others are going to try a make it for at least one day. I'm only about 2 hrs north. I don't know if I'll be able to shoot in it or not, just depends on how well my broke foot is healed up by then, but would like to come and just visit all the vendors booths. Never been to a traditional gathering before. Sounds pretty fun.

I think you will enjoy,hope the foot gets better so you can shoot,we set a pretty cool range that I think you will enjoy. 2 so target ranges wiht a 20 target pratice range so you have plenty to shoot at. Pappy

We decided not to go to the indoor 3D shoot we were going to attend tonight. As soon as we get our mail, we will be on our way this afternoon instead of leaving in the morning!

The campers are steadily rolling in. Looks like the making of a great event. The staff at Twin Oaks are fantastic!

We are on our second night, just finished shooting the practice course again, and Jim is grilling steaks!

In my opinion the best shoot in Tennessee and possibly the Southeast. Great club, great practice course, great targets, plenty of vendors. I can't dream of a better shoot to go to. Pappy and his people give 110 plus percent. Thank's to all the Twin Oaks people and their hard work. Thank's to God for the beautiful settiing.

Storm hit last night after dark. Raining steady now. Suppose to clear up and cool off for the last half of the week. Should be great weather for the shoot!

Went for a walk yesterday morning. Heard a gobble, and then a hen. Found an old home site. Saw a hen, and found a nest with what looked like around 10 eggs. Backed off so not to disturb her. Caught up to a guy walking out the camp road by our camper with a long beard over his shoulder.

Just got off the practice course again. Cleared up this morning with lots of sunshine. Possible rain again this afternoon. Pappy still working hard. He's cutting more grass. Another big camper just pulled in, and we are expecting some friends later this afternoon.

This is my 1st year at the classic. I haven't been to many shoots, but this is top notch. If you can possibly make it you need to come. It just doesn't get any better than this. It's gonna be beautiful weather the whole time.
