I have owned a lot of nice longbows, 35 or 40 of them. Today I had what my pal Bryan Hall likes to call a "Bow off."

Today I shot the following bows: (1) Big Jim Buffalo, (2) Saluki Deluxe, (3) Green Mountain Longbow, (4) Treadway Black Forest, (5) Big River 21st Century R/D, (6) Thunderhorn longbow, (7) Bamabows Royal Expedition, (8) Border Harrier GL, (9) HHA Tembo, and (10) Gary Sentman Elite Classic. I own all but the Border and the HHA.

The finest shooting bow that I had in my hands today was the Gary Sentman Elite Classic (The Big River bow was second best.).

My Elite Classic is 68" and 60 # @ 30". I was shooting Heritage 350 31" BOP and 200 gr. arrows. This bow is super smooth to draw, zero hand shock, forgiving, excellent cast, and consistent to shoot. The first arrow that I shoot when I pick up this bow is almost always the best first arrow that I shoot from any bow.

If you are fortunate enough to talk Gary into building you one of these bows, I highly recommend them. The Classic Elite might just be the best bow I have ever owned.

Thanks Gary!

The shots pictured below are from 30 yards. And this is a lot better bow than I am archer. LOL.

(I might only be able to load one picture on this site, not sure.)

Great post Rob. Mine is 68", 61#@31". I couldn't agree more, the Elite Classic is the best I've shot. It's fast, stable and tough as nails.

During the build process Gary really took the time to mentor me on some form issues I was having. From 1500 miles away he identified problems and recommended solutions. I also watched his DVD several times. I'm now shooting better than ever. He is a great teacher and I'm proud to carry his bow.

Nice looking bow for sure. When you find one that shoots that well for you, hang onto it.

He made many nice ones. I wish I knew more people like Gary Sentman. He has been a great friend as well as archery mentor.

Guys, Gary builds super bows for sure. I have two Razorbacks that are stable, quiet, dead in the hand, and very quick. I have heard some say that they are great bows but plain looking. Some may be but mine are as good looking as any other makers bows. It just depends on what you want. Gary can make them as attractive as anyone else.In short, you won't go wrong with a Moosejaw bow. Gary is the real deal and walks the talk.

Ditto what Lee@Keepitsimple said. They don't come any better or more sincere then Gary. He is a Pard to ride the river with! His latest bow is called "Cur Dog" and as excellent as the Elite Classic is I like my Cur Dog even more.

This kind of "bow porn" thread ought to be banned. I really don't need another bow... Really. That Elite Classic" isn't even my type (really). Sure is purty though. I wonder how it shoots...

No! I dont care! Now get out of my head and quit wasting my time! - John

Gary makes a beautiful bow.

Gary contacted me before moving to Montana and said once he got settled, he was going to make me a bow to raffle off at the 2015 Howard Hill Classic. He was going to make me the bow for the 10th anniversary, for 2014, but he said since I was raffling off the Commemorative Howard Hill Bow, he'd wait until 2015.

I'm excited, wondering what bow he'll make for me.

By the way, been tryin' to get a hold of Gary aka "Moosejaw", but not having much luck.

I'm thinking he might be huntin', not sure of the season in Montana.

He's probably in the woods.

Well, if he's still in the woods, I hoping he's having a lot of luck.

Maybe I'll hear from him soon.
