I received this bow in trade today. It was from and made by our own Jim Curlee (I hope I'm not embarrassing him). I am blown away at the quality and the fine workmanship. This thing was really made with love. It shoots great, too. It's by far the nicest bow I've ever owned.

I took a few photos this afternoon to show off Jim's great handiwork:

Boy, those are beautiful! fwiw: I recently received a dozen tapered cedars in trade, that were originally bought from Jim. When I spined and weighed them, I was amused to find that, not only did they all spine EXACTLY THE SAME, but they were all WITHIN 2 GRAINS of one another! Perfectly straight with great grain. Just attests to this guy's attention to quality and detail!

Hi Jim from Todd Szmania. Used to see you all the time, well every trad shoot, when there was only two in WI.

I've been shooting a couple of Jim's bows for years. I'd put them up against any of the "big name" bows for quality and performance. He's also a pretty fair, carpenter, cabinet maker and cabin builder. Now he's starting to mess around with building bamboo fly rods so watch out. Too bad he's such a grumpy old dude!@!@
