I just got in a set of Border Hex6 limbs for my Bear TD. They are #2 limbs for a 62" bow on my B riser. I used the same weight arrow, same shooter, same chrono, and did my best to duplicate everything. Below is how they compared to Some 2011 Bear red tip limbs. The Bear limbs are #1 for a 60" bow. All shooting done at 28".
Hex6 @48lb and Bear red tip 56lb shot the same speed with a 440gr arrow. Both were 12fps slower with a 525gr arrow.
Hex 6 @48 when compared to Bear red tip @ 47lb were 11fps faster.
Hex 6 @48 compared to Hex 6 ILF medium limbs @49lb were 6fps slower.
In summary, they were REALLY fast for a bear riser but a little slower than Sids ILF Hex 6 limbs. They are very smooth and like the ILF limbs build weight early in the draw but at my 28", they felt like they were only adding about 1lb per inch or so if I intentionally overdrew. In other words. less than no stack.
I did not list actual speeds because they can vary from chrono to chrono and even on lighting conditions. I just wanted to show how the limbs compared,
One other thing that suprised me is that the limbs were shipped from Border in Scotland on Monday and they arrived at my house in rural east Texas on Friday. Hard to imagine, but true.
