Had a great time today. Real nice course set up that I'm sure took a lot of work. The food was really good too, the fried chicken dinner was about the best I can remember.

With the heat we're glad we made it a day trip. It was a long ride home but the AC felt good. :)

Thanks for a really good time!

posted June 21, 2010 11:31 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Had a great time again! Our plans changed from a full weekend to only a day trip but it was worth the three hour drive. Really nice courses, good food, good people.

Shot the bull, er courses, with Doc Nock and my buddy Joe. We covered every topic from politics to hogs. Drank a lot of water too! Man, it was hot!

Really nice time. Thank you Standing Stone.

Just got back from Standing stone shoot I just have to say thanks for a great shoot. If you had the chance to go and deceided not to go you missed a good one. The people that run this shoot are great and try there best to make shure everone has a good time. The three courses were setup great and alot of fun to shoot. You cant beat there prices for the shoot $10.00 for first day and $5.00 for everday past that. Free camping and firewood and the food prices are the cheapest I have seen. All and all you would be had pressed to make it a better time unless you can cange the weather and made it cooler. Forgot my camera so no pics. Widow From: shade mt Private Reply Date: 20-Jun-10

I'm sorry I missed it as I was really planning on attending, but my wife got sick and I needed to hang around the house to take care of the little ones. jackdaw

posted June 19, 2010 10:47 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brett, shot all day on friday...and had a great time doing it. Wanted to be there with Monkeyball (craig updegraff), and 18thcentman(brian reeder), but got to spend some quality time doing a couple of things with my 5 year old autistic son Saturday morning. Otherwise Doc, I would have joined you as well. To anybody else reading this who is within a couple of hour drive from Port Royal...get there...lots of challenge, (71 targets), tons of fun. posted June 19, 2010 07:53 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brett, I was able to come to this shoot for only a half a day on Saturday, shot a couple of courses and was very impressed with how nice the courses were laid out. Guys put this on your calendar for next year this is a real good shoot. Friendly people, good courses and plenty of realistic shots. Enjoyed every moment. tom

posted June 19, 2010 09:38 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes sir, ditto to all the above. How many places can you go and shoot 70 "good" 3-D's countless times for $10.00 bucks....with guys shooting the same type of equipment you are???????

Carlisle,York,Harrisburg shooters, this is a stone throw away for you and you should really try to get to this event. There is really some excellent shooting here to be had and a hard working bunch of guys to boot!!!!!!

Craig

Brett,

You guys really had the courses laid out well! You've learned a TON in the 3 or 4 years you've been doing this and having helped one year, I KNOW how hard you worked to get things mowed, trimmed and targets set out!

Sorry I couldn't hang longer, but with Dad...well, nuff said.

Good to see ole Red Beastmaster, Joe (Mr. Perfect) and a bunch of others. Can't shoot with em all and always wish there was more time and a few more arrows left in my shoulders.

Got in at 8am, big ole breakfast thanks to "Mom" and your wife, then out to sweat it all off and back for a bite of lunch before I headed home.

Brett, Thanks! Had a good time, as usual. Hope Curt and Bill didn't wear out hrowing the ariels!! Steve

Steve,

Lol, Kurt didn't wear out but Bill on the other hand did wake up alittle sore on Sunday. I did however see that they did have some help throwing and they threw all afternoon on Saturday some where aerials and then some where "rabbits", it looked like a bow sporting clays shoot for awhile. They ask to do it every year aslong as the money raised goes to the children's hospital.

I like the bear photo with all the wood arrows around the edges and the one carbon right in the 12 ring!

LOL!!. I didn't notice that before, good eyes. I think my fav. pic. is of the deer standing around the old "fort".
