i have a 62" 49#@28" root gamemaster;....ernie root was a master bowyer; his skill was way ahead of his time,..i cant believe the fades and tappers in my gamemaster, the craftsmanship in root bows is top notch.....i would like to see pics of your bow?

...ernie ended up going too and was one of the founding fathers of shakespear archery,...i like you would like all info on ernie becuase i feel he was in the class with ben pearson, fred bear , etc,... ..........i still hunt with mine and shoot it often and my bow is a 1956,.....that in it self says alot!!....

.....and if i was to pick one bow off the rack to go make meat with it would be the root!!......snake

i just got a the same bow as you rattlesnake.a friend of mine knew i wanted to try traditional and picked it up for me at a auction for 30 bucks. considering i know nothing about what I'm doing i though the price was right I'm going to try hunting with it instead of my compound this year if i feel that I'm good enough with it by this fall.

same bow?...man lucky find,..check how thin the tappers are in the tips,..mine has a walnut wedge in tips that go like a foot' back into limbs paper thin etc along with all his laminations!!!,,,im amazed at how someone could possibly do this back in the 50's??,.....i would have love too spend a day with the man just too watch him create his magic?!!......

...the green glass is woven style and still perfect,,, why we dont still use that glass is beyond me??

...another thing my bows 49# and it feels 49# right off the bat all the way through power stroke and no stack at all,...this is why its super fast,...

when i refinished mine i brought it 1/8 closer too center , sanded bow with fine paper and tung oiled about ten coats ,, then i cover with straight bees wax too take off glare and help protect for hunting,..

...if you ever want too trade for a selfbow or something trucker give me a hollar??.....im the biggest root fan on the planet!! ....i would have never even know this great bowyer if i hadnt found this bow i have in my grampa's barn,....and this great piece of archery history will never be for sale....snake

trucker;; please use a quality stringer to string your bow; ..these bows are hard too string without one; and every bow should be strung with stringer anyway!!...it would be a shame if you miss strung and twisted a limb,....one of those recurve limb saver stringers with the rubber pad is best stay away from two pocket stringers for old recurves for tip saftey....just a helpful hint......snake
