Above are some pics of my Zona Custom T/D recurve. The bow is near completion, all that remains is final sanding and application of the finish. The riser is Bocote and Bloodwood and I'm not sure what woods are in the Mosaics other than Maple. The limbs are Actionboo cores with Bocote veneers.

Bill, I've been watching "Luvmysupertec's" threads on Archery Talk. Do you own or have you shot any of his longbows? Seems his customers are really happy with the final product.

The bow is 62" and 46#@28".

Chris,

No, I have not owned or shot one of his bows. I was very impressed with his T/D recurves and with the comments from the folks on AT that bought one and shot it.

That is an awesome looking bow love that riser. I bet it shoots as good as it looks.

I would like to shoot that

I saw one of his longbows in person and had the opportunity to shoot it but it was was wrong handed. It looked ok for the price but didn't appeal to me too much. The guy who bought it raved about the bow but couldn't shoot it too well. After a few dozen arrows he pulled out his Mathews compound to prove to everyone that he could actually shoot a bow. Bill is a nice hard working guy who puts a lot of time and attention in his bows and I'm sure they will only get better. Those recurves look like a great bow for the price.

BSBD,

I'll let you know after I receive mine. There's a ton of folk that have bought his one piece longbows and are extremely pleased with them. Of course, that can be said of a lot of bowyers and that doesn't mean their bows would be our cup of tea.

Here's some pics of the finished bow.

I had never heard of Zona until this thread, Bill. You are one of the most active bow traders I have run across. Let us know what you think when it arrives.

Bill,

Let me know how you like it. Most people on AT that buy his bows aren't too familiar with trad bows. I would love to hear a review from someone who has owned a few. Post here or pm me please.

Thanks Dave

I picked my Zona T/D recurve up at the Archery Shop Saturday. I tuned it and shot it for the better part of an hour and a half. The bow is very quiet, very smooth, very quick and has absolutely zero hand shock. The grip is to die for. It enables me to get a consistent grip each and every shop. That is IMHO a major contributor to my being able to shoot it accurately with consistency.

I would rate it the equal in quality of construction and in shooting qualities with my two favorite T/D recurves of all of the ones I've owned over the past 7+ years. The first would be a Dale Stahl T/D recurve and the second a Marriah Thermal T/D recurve by Ric Anderson. I have a Thermal on order with Ric and should receive it in the Summer or Fall. If you want a good T/D recurve, you would have a good one if you bought any of these three bows, IMHO.

I forgot to add that the shooting qualities of the Zona impressed so much that I have the two machined aluminum riser ILF bows that own up for sale. And they are great shooting bows in their own right. There's just something I like about a wood riser bow. That's especially true if it has Bocote in the riser and a contrasting wood!

Are Zina bows still being made?? And at what location? Redbone

There is a one piece for sale in the classifieds. I just nearly bought it but went a different direction.

I have read so much in the past few days that I may have my stories mixed up, but I think that the guy who was building them was a truck driver and he would build bows when he was home. If my memory is correct, the last information that I found was from eight years ago. Anyway, I came away from my research with the assumption that the bows are now longer being built.

You are correct Brad. He has not built bows for years now. I have two Zona 3 piece recurves. Great bows
