HI Hara I waiting for your show for a quite a while, what are you going to build this time? I can see it's take down, is this one for me? LOL I dream about it.

From: hera
Date: 10-Nov-07

I build this bow for bunny and barking deer in the future. I will build it to around 45#.This is a total gray TD,no more footage or color wood.

Peripheral fiber stronger then inner portion.

From: spider1

This is great, I just decided the other day I was going to give a takedown recurve a try. Any info on tapers and thicknesses as well as lengths of the lams woud be appreciated.

From: hera
Date: 10-Nov-07

Wedge tapers from 1/3" to paper thin.8".In my opinion.

From: luckyshot
Date: 10-Nov-07

Keep on, I'm waiting.

From: Crooked Stic
Date: 11-Nov-07

Checking the thickness per In. I use a thicness sander for my wedges before the taper. Handsaw the riser? I do good to get them accurate with power tools! Lookin good so far.

From: pete
Date: 11-Nov-07

Hera, Is this a bow design that you have made before that you have the angles, lam thicknesses, limb length all calculated for weight? I will be building my first TD this year using the plans from Binghams.

From: hera

I am NOT expert.all my power tool just electric hand drill and a small electric sander.Even though thus and so,I still injoy in it.

Where I build my bow? just on my PC desk and tea table.

Tons of great bowyer out there,I'm just an ordinary person, started to builded my TD recurve 5 years ago, several bad bow, only 3 TD recurve constrainedly archieve shootable level.Even though thus and so again,I still look forward and injoy in building and shooting.

From: pete
Date: 11-Nov-07

Awesome Work, this is what I got the last time I built a bow. I shot down an airplane, US special investigators wonder if I was hiding a WMD, I said no I was building a bow and accidently shot down a jet. They called me "stupid" and told me I could not have any children!!! Sorry man you build along has me regretting I ain't a bowyer and I don't have a craft to pass on to kids that I can have now. My eyes are watering Hera you are a master!!!! The Motivator

Hi spider 1,when I build riser,45% by power sander ,50% by file,5% by any other tool I can get(like knife),esp at the small curve area like grip throat .

From: hera
Date: 19-Nov-07

redskin38,I ordered my first bow kit from Bingham 5 years ago.But I found the video they offer are not enough in detail, some process is important, but they didn't emphasise. and,not all of us have so much power tool like a factory or carpenter shop.

If anyone need more detail,I'll record and post pic soon, because my next project is coming.

From: luckyshot

Hera, I am in total awe over this. You've done a fantastic job.....worse, you made it look easy!!!!

I've read and studied making bows quite a bit....although I've not made one, I have some understanding of the work involved. The fact that your tutorial makes it look easy is testament to the skills you possess.

I could only hope to build such a work of art. Congratulations. homebru

riser length 15"(38cm).

compare with my last two bow,1 pc recurve and TD recurve,I think TD is a little bit batter in arrow speed,as good as my BL classic.

I was busy with order next bow material, footed riser TD recurve next time maybe.

Hera,

If at all possible at least publish your pictures along with a detail explanation of each step in your building process. Surely you can find someone in your country that would help you get published. Someone with the skill you have shown here could easly sell more than enough books to make it worth while.......and to think you did all your work with hand tools.

I have a shop full of high dollar power tools, and the only thing...according to my wife....I can make is sawdust.
