I finished making this bow a few days ago.  This is a bow that I had posted as my "Diamond in the rough" in another thread about a week or two ago.  At the time it was only about half way completed.  A few of you wanted to see it when it was completed so here it is.  It turned out 49# @ 28" and is 60" long.  It is made of Black Walnut & Curly Maple.  Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the all complements.

initialimage,

This bow was made for a friend of my dad's.  He gave me a couple of his old recurves that he used back in the 1960's and 70's.  One of the bows he gave me (which I cherish) was made by a relative of mine that passed away in 1989.  He also gave me a nice piece of Walnut that he thought I could put to good use.  He never expected anything in return and I thought it would be a nice gesture to suprise him and make a bow out of the piece of Walnut he gave to me.  I don't know if he'll ever use it or not because he hasn't even shot a bow in a long time but it doesn't matter to me what he does with it.  It has his name on it, so it's his.

Too pretty to take in the woods that's for sure!

Next time you make those crazy veneers you can have them match up with the riser accents so it looks like the wood is flowing from the limbs, through the riser and back into the other limb.

If you make me one for free I promise I'll shoot it!!!

Looks like Norm Johnson has some competition now!

Droptine59,

Here is a message that Brandon sent me recently which should answer your question:

Thank you. I don't have a website yet but I know I need to get one. I don't know much about getting one set up. I think I would get a lot more response from one. I do have a small ad in the Feb/March 2006 Traditional Bowhunter (Rose Oak Creaitons, pg 102). I have had a few calls but not a lot of response from it yet.

That is one beautiful bow. Somebody buy one quick and tell me how they shoot. I'm very curious and very serious. Brandon, do you make takedowns?

From: Bodork

Wow Brandon! That bow looks amazing! I have some walnut and curley maple coming and I hope I can do it half the justice you have done with this bow. Love everything about it. Mike

Brandon,

For what it is worth, I saw your add and the bow in it.  I immediatly looked  for a web address and even spent some time searching for a web site just to look at what you had.  So, it was working to some extent.

Absolutely awesome bow.  The detail is amazing.  I think a lot of folks look at Rudi, as the grand master, in germany of detail and artistry but you may have just brought the prize back across the ocean.

Well done.
