What kind of arrows?  I know krylon will stick to poly,  I've done it many times.

stickngo -

I've seen people do it, with good results, just do a good prep on the shaft, and make sure the fletching adhesive will stick to the paint, from what I've seen, most do.

BTW - why would you want to spray Eclipse shafts ???

Viper out.

I've done 'dipping' and cresting with spray paint..mostly on wood arrows which I've just started to putz around with. It works quite well and looks clean. I mask the arrow off at 10" and I take a paper grocery bag and stick 4 arrows spaced evenly through the bottom, sticking 10 inches out. I then put masking tape around where the arrows stick out of teh bag to hold them in and keep them from sliding out. You just hang the bag up some where and spray the arrows. I've found that 4 arrows sticking out of the bag gives you enough room to get all sides covered evenly. If you just want to crest and not dip try Testors model paint. You can get it in either acrylic or enamel and it comes in all different colors, I've used it with great results. This model paint sticks to aluminum arrows well. I havent spray painted aluminum arrows yet but I'd think some slight scuffing with steel wool might be inorder for the paint to stick well..but maybe not. I have also used the wraps and they work great..especialy on carbon arrows.

i've sprayed aluminum with polyurethane enamel and wood with krylon and crested with testors acrylic enamel and both worked great. just make sure shafts are clean. i used acetone on the aluminum and just scuffed the woodys with fine sandpaper. spray clear polyurethane over the cresting so it won't rub off and you're set. don't use the krylon spray latex. i tried it and it sucked. i also used min-wax stain/polyurethane on the woodys and it worked great also. thought i may as well try what i had sitting around first, glad i did.

forgot to say that duco cement for the feathers on both worked great.

Spray paint works just fine. I used to use auto touch up paint all the time. I've also used the Testor's as mentioned, as well as plain old acrylic craft paint. It's all about the prep and finish work.

Mana Styks those are some handsome arrows. The color combiation is realy superb. The crests are outstanding. Those should be very visible in flight as well. Very nicely done and thanks for the photo.

Rustoleum spray paint for caps, Testors model paint for crest, water-based poly, Duco cement, Minwax oil stain are all compatable.

Krylon Fusion is good on carbons. Tape off, scuff a little, clean with acetone and spray. I use paper towels and tape off several inches down the shaft to handle the overspray.

I used Rustolouem for metal spray paint. I clean my alum shafts with comet cleanser and hot water. Dry with lint free towels. I sprayed two light coats, whit as a base then yellow as final finish. I crested with RC car paints from Testors. I used NPV glue to fletch. These days I use wraps on alum and carbon shafts. I now crest with acrylic paints and use water based polycrillic to finish.

Aloha thanks for the compliments Bob. I like to keep the tail end practically all white for the purpose of visualizing my arrow in flight and upon impact and penetration of the the animal if I'm hunting. That way I'll have an idea of shot placement.
