Picked up a 1969 Bear Kodiak Magnum that is in very good shape, all it needed was a new string which I quickly ordered from Allen at Ten Rings.

My question is what material would the original rest and side plate have been?

If it was mine I'd get ahold of Keefers and try to buy one of the side plates and feather rests he made. They would be classy on an older Bear.

Looks like a small 3 line leather plate end a Bear-hair in the 1969 catalog.

I'd try a three line from Keefers. Put a five line on my Grizzly and it looks nice, as well.

Thanks for everyone's help. I reached out to Keefer and should have a new 3 line side plate here within the week.

Keefers, you have been extremely helpful and I am excited to see the side plates and rest.

I have not even put my hands on the product, but after the excellent communication I received from Keefers, I have no reservations they will be excellent as well.
