Received a kid's bow yesterday, nothing special unless you are a kid. It was a Barnett Youth bow, a simple 3 piece bow that screams fun to a kid. I made string of sorts for it this morning, I do not claim to be a string maker.
It has a simple one pin sight made onto the front of it. I'll have to figure out some arrows for it but I know two boys that will have a blast with it.
The riser is very short and small, black in color with a deep flat shelf. so I added a glue on rest to get the arrow up and off of it. I served the string but it is still way too loose for the arrows I tried, so will probably put another layer of serving on it.
A Waller was kind enough to send this to me and shortly some kids will be whooping and hollering as the play with it. I will set up some small stuffed animals for them to "hunt." Also will have a rubber tipped arrow for them to chase a tennis ball with. It may be a week or so before they get their hands on it but they will have all summer to terrorize the critters around their home. Just wanted to say thanks to those that do this for our kids and youth, not just here but across this great land. Jerry
