I have an ad in the classifieds. In the last two days I have had two different people ask for me to send pics which I offered in the ad but also a video and a pic with a note with my name and date on the bow. Neither of these people have any posting history here. After sending these I never heard from them at all. My question is are they possibly using the video and pic to scam someone else? Tom

Could be,, lots of things some can do with a computer. Using your pictures and say they are theirs would be easy. I'm sure someone has used some pics of mine to do the same thing. That's just how it is nowadays. People suck.

It's why I no longer honor requests for additional pics. I'd rather lose an occasional sale.

I buy and sell a lot of bows. I have found that a lot of people ask for pictures then never get back to me. That's ok, can't blame them for shopping around to see what is out there and to look at quality. I wish they would respond one way or the other just so I would know they got the pictures and if the think my price is too high etc. I want all the feedback I can get, good or bad.

The trend now is to post a photo and a note. Now the guy can re-use your pictures and note to try to scam someone. The Scammers are getting smart.

I never saw the value in the name date in a picture thing. Maybe a pic with your note or something to verify current ownership, but in general it doesn't do anything.

I have already seen scam posts where they take your note and photoshop anew date and name.

Seeing that one pic is the limit on this site, it is silly not to send additional pics. I'm not buying a bow after seeing one picture of it. I can get a pretty good idea on the condition of a bow with eight to ten pictures.

It is the guys on Facebook buy and sell groups that ask for more pictures after you've already posted twelve or fifteen that irritate me.

CStyles has it right. I’ve followed that thought process for 20 years with 100% successful transactions, not only successful, but very pleasant.

I have sold 3 bows on here to people with no history with zero problems. I only take a postal money order or PayPal. I don’t mind sending pictures, but like John if people would just respond by saying thanks, or not interested anymore would be nice

yes, a lot of tire kickers, with no intention to buy. My experiance is maybe 1 of 7 are actually interested. and yes it is annoying after sending pics. and no reply.
