Perfect weather to enjoy a trip to the Shabin property and shoot my little course with a new bow I finished up a few weeks ago. Snapped a few pics to share with the guys who may be stuck behind a screen or otherwise gainfully employed ;)
Ended up 65" NTN, 58#@28". Osage selfbow with timber rattler skin side slices. Beaver tail grip and side plate/rest. Highlighted belly grain with a torch. A little snake in the top limb. Zebrawood tip overlays from the awesome giveaway Rickey did (thanks again!). You can see the unstrung and full draw profile on the thread everyone posted on, I'll show them again if I can find the pics.
I didn't really care for the washed out look of the skins at first, but it's growing on me and I think it'll look pretty cool as the Osage darkens. Still pretty yellow now.
This thing zips 'em at 58#, I like it :) Gotta head back to civilization now, I'll post up a few more pics later. Enjoy.

nice looking bow, they can grow on you, especially when you have history on them. They are the definition of the word fun. Yeah, very cool bows.

Nice looking bow, but came in about 10 pounds too heavy for me. So guess you'll have to keep it and enjoy!

Thanks guys. Arlone lol it's actually heavy for me as well, but I like the release I get off this poundage. I have a couple heavy ones around for that "thump" into the targets :)

Thanks gentlemen. BJ, it shoots really nice for me. Probably a little longer than needed, but I've always liked how longer bows shoot for me. Next one I might push it a little:)

Appreciate the nice comments, guys.
Nevada, I'm shooting some 29.5" 50-55# tapered cedars with 145gr tips. Brand new from Dink's Feather Shop I had fletched up at the Tennessee Classic. The arrow shelf isn't quite cut to center, just enough to hold a shaft. They're flying great. I got it shot in with some 29" 55# cedars with 145gr brass tips that also flew nicely.

Yep, I know, I really like my Osage Bow, I bought off of a local bowyer.
But I am fixing to try my hand at making a Hickory bow. We have a fair-sized Hickory found on my farm, that we are going to cut and split up into staves, pretty quick. It should split up into at least 12 staves or more.
I plan on keeping a couple or so staves out of that tree, and I will give the bowyer the rest for his use.
I am keeping my eye out for a decent Osage tree to cut in the future. I have a few found but they are pretty scrubby and would definitely take a more talented person than myself to get a decent bow out of.

Very nice Damon, it's a keeper eh. ;) Is that the timber skin from me? Big scales on that old dude and a bit of a pain but you did it up really nice. I've done several timbers on light, medium and dark woods, each had it's own unique colors.
Get after them critters with it bud. :)

Thanks guys. Yes sir, Joe. These are the splits off that skin, not sure if you saw the post with the last bow I used the other splits on, but those went on over a vinagroon stained back. Turned out sharp :)
I killed a big Tom with it last Monday :)
